The ALPHA Touch from Vitalograph is a fully featured spirometer featuring a touch-screen interface for ease of use. The spirometer features a high-resolution colour display, onboard storage for up to 10,000 subjects along with a built-in thermal printer for producing permanent records with a choice of predicted or standard deviation scores (SDS), BMI and lung age information. The ALPHA Touch has more than 50 selectable test parameters, pre and post bronchodilator comparisons, single or multi breath testing and a choice of child incentives. When connected to a PC running the optional Spirotrac software, two-way synchronisation of patient data and test sessions can be automated. Supplied in a robust carrying case, the ALPHA Touch incorporates a rechargeable NiMH battery that offers a full day's normal use offsite, making the unit suitable for use away from the consulting room.
